Connect a Google Analytics 4 property to an Octopus.do project and every page on the map carries its own traffic: views, users and average engagement time, matched to your pages by their URLs. Plan a redesign against what the pages actually do, without leaving the sitemap.
Connect
One property per project, set up by the project owner. You need a Google account with access to the property and a project on a paid plan.
- Open the project and switch to SEO mode.
- Press Google Analytics, then Connect.
- Sign in with Google and allow read access to your Analytics data.
- Pick the property under Choose a property.
Sign-in runs over OAuth, so Octopus.do never sees your Google password, and it asks for a single scope — analytics.readonly. It reads reports and writes nothing back to Analytics. You can withdraw the access at any time from your Google account.
What you see
In SEO mode each page shows three numbers beside it: views, users and engagement time — the average engagement per user. They cover the last 30 days and come from the property you picked.
Pages are matched by their URL, so a page with no address on the map says no URL, and a page whose address Analytics never reported says no data. A page that was reported with zeroes shows zeroes.
The report is stored with the project and refreshed on request: open Google Analytics and press Resync now to pull the current numbers.
Everyone who can open the project sees the numbers. Changing the property or disconnecting stays with the owner.
Plans
The integration is part of Pro and Team. It is gated on the plan of the project’s owner, not on whoever is looking: a project owned by a free account keeps the restriction even inside a paid team workspace.
Troubleshooting
The property list is empty
The Google account you signed in with has no access to a Google Analytics 4 property. Universal Analytics properties are not listed — the integration reads GA4 only.
A page says “no URL”
The page has no address in the sitemap. Add one in SEO mode and resync.
A page says “no data”
Analytics reported nothing for that address in the last 30 days. Check that the address on the map is the one visitors actually open — a trailing slash or a stray query is enough to make it a different page.
The numbers differ from the ones in Analytics
The map shows the last 30 days from the report Octopus.do stored last, and Analytics may be showing another range, another property or a filtered view. Press Resync now to refresh, then compare the same 30 days.
Connect asks for a paid plan
The project is owned by a free account. Upgrade the owner’s plan, or move the project to an owner who has one.
