Octopus.do for ChatGPT

Build and edit your sitemaps straight from a ChatGPT conversation. Install the app once, then describe what you want — it runs in your own Octopus.do account.

Octopus.do is an app in ChatGPT: ask for a sitemap in plain language and it is built in your own Octopus.do account — pages, blocks and wireframes included. Point it at a project you already have and it reads the structure, adds pages, or restructures the tree. Some people call it the Octopus.do ChatGPT plugin; in ChatGPT it appears under Apps.

Install

Requires ChatGPT Plus or higher, and an Octopus.do account — a free one works.

Or find it from inside ChatGPT:

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors.
  2. Search for Octopus.do.
  3. Press Connect and sign in with your Octopus.do account.

Signing in runs over OAuth, so ChatGPT never sees your password. Once connected, just mention sitemaps, pages or Octopus.do in a chat and the app is picked up automatically.

What you can ask

  • Build a sitemap for a coffee shop: home, menu, about and contacts, each with a header and a footer block
  • What pages are in my Marketing Site project?
  • Add a Pricing page under Home, with a hero and an FAQ block
  • Move the FAQ page so it sits under Support instead of Home
  • Rename the Header block on the Home page to “Top nav” and use the second header wireframe
  • Show me what would change before applying anything

What it can do

  • Read your workspaces and projects, and any project as a page tree with its blocks.
  • Build and edit pages and content blocks: create, rename, move, set URLs and SEO notes, pick wireframes.
  • Restructure in one atomic batch — a whole sitemap is created or rearranged in a single change, not page by page.
  • Manage projects: create, duplicate, archive, rename, switch theme and layout.

Deleting a page or a block is flagged as destructive, so ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it runs. Permanent project deletion is not available to the app at all — projects can only be archived.

Account and access

The app acts strictly as your own Octopus.do account and only ever sees projects that account already has access to, in personal and team workspaces alike. To cut off access, remove the app in ChatGPT under Settings → Apps & Connectors.

Plan limits are the Octopus.do ones and follow the project owner's plan: a free account holds up to 3 projects, and part of the wireframe library is paid. When a limit is hit, the app says so in the chat and offers a free alternative where one exists.

Troubleshooting

  • Octopus.do doesn't show up in the app search. Apps need ChatGPT Plus or higher. On a work or team account, apps are enabled by the workspace admin — ask them to allow Octopus.do.
  • ChatGPT asks you to sign in again, or says it has no access. The authorization expired or was revoked. Disconnect the app and connect it again — the Octopus.do sign-in runs once more and access is restored.
  • “Can't create a project”. A free Octopus.do account holds up to 3 projects. Archive one you no longer need, or upgrade the plan.
  • “That wireframe isn't available”. Part of the wireframe library is paid, and the project owner's plan decides. Ask for a free wireframe instead, or upgrade the plan.
