Export seamlessly to WordPress.
Transfer your project data to the most popular content management system in the world
Octopus to WordPress export (beta)
WordPress is a content management system that stores content and allows users to create and publish websites, and only requires a domain and the hosting service.
It uses files called a WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS), a file primarily used to migrate old WordPress website data to a new one. In essence, this is an XML file format.
To support our users who build their sitemaps in Octopus and use WP as a platform for their website, we recreated the WXR format for WP to accept it and be able to parse all imported data successfully. Hundreds of projects are transferred monthly, each saving hours if not days of work.
The current version of the export file includes the following:
- Page hierarchy (same parent-child connection as in your visual sitemap)
- Page titles
- Content block titles
- Content images
- Content text and limited styling (headers, code and quote blocks)
